Semester 2
Assignment
Semester two has been a big learning curve for me because I’ve managed to get out of my comfort zone and started to contribute more to the group. I took in consideration of last year’s negative feedbacks for example that “I’m too quiet in group meetings” or that they’ve felt that I didn’t contribute that much into the project. This semester I have personally made the effort of making sure that people can see what I can offer to the group. For example selecting difficult tasks that other people did not want do and making sure that task was completed on time. This was successful for me because from the feedbacks that I’ve received this semester is that a lot of people have taken notice that I have contributed a lot more and made more of an effort of participating in group discussions.
The most significant learning across the four knowledge strands was that I have learnt in this semester was about stakeholder analyse and then mapping them out which gives us a great visual overview of how the stakeholder will play a role in the project outcomes. We had the great opportunity of meeting experts from different industries such as Tim Brown and Gavin Proctor. The four knowledge strands has helped a lot in this semester such as such as looking into new technology such as new rapid prototyping technologies and seeing how they can be applied into the projects. Also in self and community, I have now got the confidence of working abroad because Brenda has helped me to understand other cultures. This was important when working in a multidisciplinary team, there will people with cultures and its important to understand them and communicate with them in order for the group to work in harmony.
Also in planning and professionalism has helped me to understand the business world better and seeing how organisation markets their brands to their customers. Also learning the different consultancy methods when working with clients and setting their expectations. The main implications was that from last semester, working in big groups sometimes led to big disagreements however in this semester we working in smaller and significally reduced the amount of level of disagreements. Overall, in semester I have made sure that I came out of my comfort zone and that I have at least made that people knew what I can offer to the group.
